The 2024 Program has been cancelled due to low enrollment. Please check back soon for other acting opportunities.
The actors will begin with a familiar story or fairy tale as a starting point. Over the program they will “fracture” that tale into a show filled with their own ideas. They will develop a script, choose music, design sets and then perform the show for family and friends at the end of the program on the Playhouse on Park stage.
The program is open to young people age 8-21 who have any type of intellectual, developmental, or physical challenge. We’ll work any adaptive equipment they may use into the show.
Theater educators and technical staff from Playhouse on Park will lead the actors through their journey. Support will be provided by staff from The Miracle League of CT along with Occupational Therapy students from Goodwin University.
The goal of the Miracle League of CT is to remove all barriers that prevent children with special needs from participating in recreational, educational and cultural activities. If one of those barriers is a financial one, please email us at miracleleaguect@comcast.net to request a fee waiver for any of our programs. We will do our best to accommodate your request which will be kept strictly confidential.
